Between the time of American Slavery, the Abolition Movement, the subsequent Civil War that divided a nation, and the southern segregation of blacks and whites (as well as other parts of the United States) and the final movement of the Civil Rights of 1950’s to the 1980’s; blacks were considered an inferior race, as well as treated as second class citizens.
